Orthotic Types
Orthotics come in many different types. From off the shelf, to semi custom (“Joey’s”) through to fully custom made devices, Ivanhoe Podiatry Centre can offer a solution.
Orthotic Process
To decide on which type of orthotic is required we complete a biomechanical assessment of your feet. We may trial some padding to mimic an orthotic and ask you to test it for a week or so to see if there is improvement in the condition you are experiencing. Then, if supplying custom orthotics a scan of your foot is taken and a prescription written based on the results of the assessment and scan and a device is then made to perfectly fit your foot.
Footwork Laboratory
We use Melbourne based, Footwork Podiatric Laboratory to make our semi and fully custom orthotics. Your prescription is only ever designed by a qualified podiatrist – making Footwork the only podiatric laboratory with this type of dedicated in-house service. Your orthotics are created in our new state of the art 3D printing facilities on the latest 3D printing centres to ensure optimum accuracy and quality. Footwork’s reputation for quality is very well recognised by clients and the industry. After two decades, they are still one of the leading supplier of orthotics in Australia.
